September Newsletter Students raise funds for Samoa On Friday 16th of October Year 12 VCAL students, with excellent help from a contingent of Year 7s raised $450 for the Pacific tsunami relief effort.
Despite rainy conditions, over two hundred kebabs were consumed on the College Green, along with over one hundred cans of drink and eighty bags of fairy floss (although some of these were prudently saved for later).
This event was the product of weeks of furious preparation on the part of VCAL students, demonstrat- ing, not for the first time, their ability to make decisions democratically and to organise themselves effectively (this was the same outfit who were in large part responsible for raising over a twelve hundred dollars for Foundation House during Refugee Week)....
