Providing Support to our Families

Roxburgh College aims to support families through a crisis, family issues and personal trauma. We will aim to connect you and your families to services that can assist you and your family, and provide support.

1800-RESPECT aimes provide confidential telephone and online, information, counselling and support 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. They aim support people experiencing the impacts of sexual assault, domestic or family violence. 1800-RESPECT provides information, advice and support to frontline workers, and family and friends, to help them to respond appropriately to sexual assault, domestic or family violence.

Safe steps offers at no cost to women, their children (family and friends) living with family violence, access to professional support through a comprehensive range of services to enable them to become – and stay – free from violence. Safe Steps offers a 24-hour family violence response Women and children living with family violence, or someone who knows a person living with family violence, can call the safe steps response line from anywhere in Australia, 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Our crisis support advocates are on hand to help women explore their options and escape abuse.

Family Counselling Service The VAHS Family Counselling Service provides culturally safe social-emotional wellbeing and mental health counselling, cultural healing and recovery programs, care coordination and outreach support. The Family Counselling Service is located at the VAHS Preston site and provides services across four main program areas – Adult Social Emotional Wellbeing, Koori Kids, Financial Wellbeing and the Ice Pilot Program.
